PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a basket for washing dishes where a transporting apparatus, a housing and storing apparatus are downsized and by a space saving structure, and many dishes can be washed simultaneously to improve operation efficiency. SOLUTION: The basket for washing dishes which is carried into a dish washer having a washing nozzle together with the dishes 40 while holding the two or more dishes 40 is provided with a basket frame 1 and a dish holding means 14 for holding the dishes 40 in the basket frame 1 while the dishes 40 are superposed in a standing state. The dish holding means 14 has a bar member 2 for holding the dishes for forming tiny gaps for washing between adjacent dishes 40 and 40 by horizontally moving the respective dishes 40 with energizing force of a jetting washing liquid jetted from the washing nozzle in the dish washer.
