PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inkjet recording head which is highly reliable by suppressing reduction of the thickness of a protective film layer protecting a heat resistor due to ink. SOLUTION: The inkjet recording head H1001 includes: a recording element substrate H1101 having an electrothermal conversion element H1103 including a heat resistor for discharging ink, a protective film layer for protecting the heat resistor of the electrothermal conversion element H1103 and a nozzle section and an ink supply retaining member H1501 where ink is retained. Before use, the ink for recording is retained in the ink supply retaining member H1501, and the recording element substrate H1101 is filled with ink for storage.
