An electro-optical device, a method for driving an electro-optical device, and an electronic apparatus are provided to enhance display quality by suppressing flicker without varying driving voltages. An electro-optical device includes plural pixels and plural write scan lines, which are installed based on predetermined numbers of pixels among the plural pixels. A driving device(2) non-sequentially scans the plural write scan lines and adjusts illuminating times of the pixels according to a brightness ratio of display images. The electro-optical device is an organic electro-luminescence device having illuminating elements for respective pixels. The electro-optical device, which includes pixel electrodes in the respective pixels, is a liquid crystal device having a liquid crystal between the pixel electrodes and an opposite electrode.
