When both the two differences (|¸a -¸r|, |¸a -¸e|) between an absolute steering angle value ¸a obtained from a steering angle sensor (8) and a relative steering angle value ¸r estimated from the rotating angle sensor (7) of a motor (5), and an estimated steering angle value ¸e estimated from the induced voltage of the motor respectively exceed predetermined values (threshold values), the steering angle sensor (8) is determined to be failed.
