A radio receiver and a method for attenuating multiple path noise are provided to control mute for an audio output without the notice when sound quality is deteriorated by the influence of a signal through a multiple path. A radio receiver includes a multiple path searching unit(340), and a mute controlling unit(350). The multiple path searching unit(340) judges whether a multiple path signal is received or not from a received signal. The mute controlling unit(350) performs intermittent mute for an audio output in a multiple path signal period according to the multiple path signal search of the multiple path searching unit(340). The multiple path searching unit(340) outputs a multiple path detecting signal when the multiple path signal is received. |
