A method and a device for driving a plasma display panel are provided to reduce a manufacturing cost by using an optimal circuit configuration. A device for driving a plasma display panel includes one or more switching elements(ER1,ER2). The switching elements increase an electrode voltage of the plasma display panel by turning on a first path(A), which is formed from a base voltage source to the plasma display panel(PANEL) via a resonance inductor(L1), and decreases the electrode voltage of the plasma display panel by turning on a second path, which is formed from the plasma display panel to the base voltage source via the resonance inductor. The first and second paths include the resonance inductor connected to the base voltage source, a resonance switch connected in series to the resonance inductor, and a second switch connected between the resonance inductor and the panel.
