A mobile phone having a menu display function and a method thereof are provided to display the relevance visually between an upper menu and a lower menu by providing screens of a consistent theme in displaying a main menu and its sub menus. If a user selects a menu view, a control part confirms the present established theme and menu configuration(S10). Then the control part arranges menu icons on an uppermost menu screen corresponding to the presently established theme(S12). If the user selects one among the menu icons(S14), the control part extracts the detailed image of a theme screen where the selected menu icon is arranged(S16). Then the control part displays the sub menus of the selected menu icon on the extracted detailed image(S18). If the user selects one of the displayed sub menus(S20), the control part confirms whether the sub menus of the selected sub menu exist(S22). In case the sub menus of the selected sub menu exist, the control part extracts an associated detailed image and displays the sub menus of the selected sub menu on the extracted detailed image(S24,S26).
