A method for diagnosing abnormality of an impact sensor of a vehicle is provided to secure safety of a driver by informing a driver that the impact sensor is installed wrongly or damaged, in advance. A method for diagnosing abnormality of an impact sensor of a vehicle is composed of steps for sensing acceleration from the impact sensor installed in the vehicle(S100); judging whether the impact sensor corresponds to an abnormal condition or not, on the basis of a detected acceleration signal(S105); judging whether the abnormal condition of the impact sensor is generated over the predetermined number of times or not(S110); and turning on an airbag warning lamp(S115). For the abnormal condition of the impact sensor, physical quantity analyzed on the basis of the detected acceleration signal is determined as an impact state, if frequency of the detected acceleration signal is in or not in a resonant state. |
