A hard disk drive is provided to improve write performance of a magnetic head and to prevent a weak write phenomenon by turning on a disk heating part at a relatively low temperature to lower coercivity. A hard disk drive comprises a disk pack, a disk heating part(70), and a controller. The disk pack has a disk(11) in which data is recorded, and a spindle motor(12) for supporting and rotating the disk. The disk heating part is arranged to the disk pack to raise the temperature of the disk. The controller controls the operation of the disk heating part. The disk heating part includes a heater(72) arranged to the spindle motor to emit the heat by supplied power, and a heat transfer part(74) arranged in the disk to heat the disk. The spindle motor includes a spindle motor hub(20), a clamp(30), and a clamp screw(16). The controller controls the coercivity to be lowered to a predetermined range by turning on the disk heating part at a relatively low temperature.
