PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recording and reproducing device which can easily identify a status of viewing and listening of recorded data such as a television program. SOLUTION: When a television program or the like is recorded, a recorded program associated with viewing management information such as date, time, channel, and user identifying information is recorded. An imaging portion is provided, which takes a viewer upon reproduction of the recorded program to be recognized.
