PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a soft waxed paper which is excellent in tensile strength in a wet condition. SOLUTION: This waxed paper comprises: two fiber web layers 4 and 4 which are composed of 50 to 100 weight percent of rayon fibers with a fiber thickness of 1.0 to 6.5 dtex and a fiber length of 25 to 55 mm, and 0 to 50 weight percent of polyethylene terephthalate fiber with a fiber thickness of 1.0 to 6.5 dtex and a fiber length of 25 to 55 mm; and a pulp layer 5 of 12 to 50 g/m<SP>2</SP>in basic weight that is put between those two fiber web layers 4 and 4.
