<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging apparatus for preventing an upper body including a head and hand of a person who is an object from being overflowed from a frame of a camera, and for enabling a sign language to be securely photographed. <P>SOLUTION: An overflow monitoring unit 14 of a mobile information terminal 21 is designed to draw an initial upper body profile line 32 and an initial hand profile line 33 on the upper body including the head and the hand of the object on self image data 152 by an initial setting function 122, to calculate a length L of its sum total, and to store. The overflow monitoring unit 14 is designed to acquire the image data 152 stored in a self image data buffer 16, and to extract an upper body profile line 34, and a hand profile line 36 by an overflow determining function 124. An alarm function 128 is executed when a state in which a length L' of a sum total of these profile lines is not larger than the half of the length L is continued within a fixed time.
