PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a range-finding device capable of realizing miniaturization and cost reduction of digital cameras. SOLUTION: The range-finding device for measuring a subject distance is equipped with a pan-focus lens 16a; a sensor for range-finding 16b receiving light from a subject through the pan focus lens 16a; a photographic lens 1a capable of adjusting the lens position; a sensor for photographing 1b for receiving the light from the subject through the photographic lens 1a and having a constitution different from that of the sensor for range-finding 16b; a third signal generation part 9c generating a third signal equivalent to a second signal obtained from the sensor for range-finding 16b from a first signal obtained from the sensor for photographing 1b; and a subject-distance calculation part 9b calculating the subject distance by a phase difference system, based on the second signal and the third signal.
