PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a passenger conveyor capable of automatically informing a child or an adult near him/her about danger, when the child plays at a handrail belt etc. provided in a railing panel and is in a dangerous situation. SOLUTION: In the vicinity of an entrance 14, a sensor 15 is mounted on each deck 12. Moreover, in vicinity of the entrance 14, an alarm means 16 is provided on each deck 12. The alarm means 16 is controlled by a control means 20 so as to raise an alarm when the state where presence of a person in the vicinity of the deck 12 is detected by the sensor 15 is continued for a longer time than a predetermined time.
