摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce water etc., entering a liquid crystal device. SOLUTION: A first extension part 16A is in contact with a substrate surface of a TFT array substrate 10 of a seal material 52, i.e. a portion of a surface of a BSG film etc., constituting the top layer of a laminate structure 90 in a seal area 110a, which faces an insulating film. The first extension part 16A is in contact with the seal material 52 and laminate structure 90 while sandwiched between the seal material 52 and laminate structure 90 in an area of the seal area 110a which is close to an image display area 10a. The first extension part 16A as a portion of an inorganic alignment film 16 contacts the seal material 52 with contacting force larger than the contacting force with which the laminate structure 90 formed of the insulating film such as the BSG film in the seal area 110A contacts the seal material 52, so a counter substrate 20 and the TFT array substrate 10 can be bonded more strongly and entry of water etc., is reduced.
