The stand has a vertical position adjustment mechanism (10) and a switchover mechanism (11) switching over between vertical and horizontal orientations of a thin display. The adjustment mechanism has different movement ranges between the vertical and the horizontal orientations, when the switchover mechanism rotates the thin display. The adjustment mechanism has a support unit (13) that is provided on a stand base.
