PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a production method of a copolymer of an olefin with a polar vinyl monomer in which separation of a polymer from a solvent is easy and a catalyst can be recovered and recycled, which is environment-friendly. SOLUTION: In this production method, an olefin and a polar vinyl monomer are copolymerized in the presence of a solid Lewis acid catalyst in which an organic aluminum compound or a boron compound is fixed to an interlaminar compound and a radical polymerization initiator.
