<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric connector enhanced in reliability and safety of connection to a mating connector by ensuring connection between the connector with contacts housed therein and a connector housing for housing it therein. <P>SOLUTION: The electric connector includes a connector body 2 having contacts mounted thereto, and a connector housing 10 having a cavity 12 for housing the connector body therein, and an operation lever 16, and is structured such that the connector body 2 is inserted into the cavity, and the electric connector is fitted and connected to the mating connector by rotating the operation lever 16. The connector housing 10 has a sensing member 13 on one of its sidewall surfaces. The sensing member projects from the sidewall surface and flatly resiliently changes its shape according to insertion of the connector body into the cavity, and detects the insertion conditions of the connector body 2 in the cavity. The operation lever 16 is structured such that the operation lever 16 hits the sensing member when the sensing member projects from the sidewall surface, and its rotation is blocked. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT</p> |
