PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polyamide resin composition suppressing increase in yellowness degree and having excellent mechanical properties such as toughness even after the passage of a thermal history over a long period or repetition thereof and to provide a method for producing the resin composition. SOLUTION: The method for producing the polyamide resin composition comprises compounding an aqueous solution of a metal compound composed of the metal compound represented by general formula A<SB>X</SB>B<SB>Y</SB>O<SB>2</SB>(wherein, A is selected from group 1 metal element of the periodic table or any of Cu, Ag and Pt; B is selected from any of Al, Fe, Te, Ti, Sc, In, Y, Ni, Co, Cr, Mn, Ga and Rh; 0<X<4; and 0<Y<2) and a polyalkylene glycol with at least one of a polyamide raw material or a polyamide melt. The concentration of the metal compound in the aqueous solution of the metal compound is 0.01-10 mass% and the content of the polyalkylene glycol is 10-10,000 pts.mass based on 100 pts.mass of the metal compound.
