PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magenta toner having high coloring power and excellent negative charging property. SOLUTION: The magenta toner contains at least a magenta pigment C.I.Pigment RED184, a modified polyurethane dispersant as a pigment dispersant having an acid value of 0 to 10 mgKOH/g and an amine value of 1 to 10 mgKOH/g, and a binder resin. Also, the magenta toner shows an ID (image density) of 1.4 to 2.0 when a deposition amount is 0.3 mg/cm<SP>2</SP>, and has a charge amount of 20 (-μC/g) or more as a developer after stirred for 15 seconds.
