PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an active and photoelectric-sensor type human body detection apparatus capable of removing noise even when a periodic noise of a specific frequency and a random noise of any pattern are present and performing highly and stable detection and provide a faucet control apparatus having the same. SOLUTION: The human body detection apparatus for projecting light pulses and detecting human bodies by receiving their reflected light is provided with: an amplification means for outputting first signals acquired by amplifying output of a light reception means; an inversion means for outputting second signals acquired by receiving the first signals and inverting their polarity; an integration means for integrating the first or second signals; and a control means for controlling a light projection means and the integration means and determining the presence or absence of human bodies according to output of the integration means. Operations of noise removal and integration for integrating first signals for a prescribed time in synchronization with the start of light projection of light pulses and integrating the second signals for the same length of time as the prescribed time in synchronization with the completion of light projection are performed by a plurality of times.
