PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control device of a solenoid driven valve capable of more surely operating the solenoid driven valve at starting of an internal combustion engine and improving operation performance of the internal combustion engine. SOLUTION: An ECU 80 is provided with a movement direction judging section 85 for judging a movement direction of a piston 8 and a solenoid driven valve controlling section 86 for closing the solenoid driven valve 40 when the movement direction of the piston 8 is a direction toward a valve element 45 at starting of the internal combustion engine 1. With this construction, when a plurality of solenoid driven valves 40 are provided, the solenoid driven valves 40 starting operation at the same time are reduced to decrease electric energy at operation start and can be surely operated. Interference of the valve element 45 and the piston 8 can be thus inhibited, it becomes unnecessary to provide a valve recess in the piston 8, and lowering of a compression ratio and the like can be inhibited. These enable more surely operating the solenoid driven valves 40 at starting of the internal combustion engine 1 and improving the operation performance of the internal combustion engine 1.
