PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shorts type diaper which uses a urine absorbing pad conveniently discarded and achieves a low running cost when used without wasting valuable resources. SOLUTION: The shorts type diaper 1 is equipped with an absorber 22, a top sheet 18 which is disposed to cover the upper surface of the absorber 22 and is made of a liquid-permeable material at least partially, and a back sheet 20 which is disposed to cover an lower surface of the absorber 22 and is made of a liquid-impermeable material and comprises a front body part 2, a crotch part 4, and a back body part 6. An opening part around a waist and a pair of opening parts around legs are formed by joining corresponding side edge parts 2a, 6a (2b, 6b) of the front body part 2 and the back body part 6. The shorts type diaper 1 is further equipped with hook materials 24 (24a, 24b) for a mechanical fastener for fixing the urine absorbing part on the diaper on the surface on the side of the top sheet 18 of the diaper.
