PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a document carrying device capable of efficiently cooling inside of the device by fans and of effectively improving document carrying performance and having substantially enhanced document carrying stability. SOLUTION: The document carrying device 1 has a carrying unit 30 inside a document carrying part 10. The carrying unit 30 has the two fans 34 for cooling inside of the document carrying device 1. The fans 34 are arranged in the direction for flowing air from the upstream side in the document carrying direction to the downstream side. Thus, an air flow by the fans 34 is flowed along a flow of the document carrying, enabling document carrying without applying braking. Moreover, since the air flowed by the fans 34 is flowed on a document carrying path 13 in the upstream and downstream sides of the fans 34, documents are pulled in the upstream side of the fans 34, and are pushed in the downstream side of the fans 34.
