PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a navigation system for mounting on a vehicle, capable of easily establishing a place previously established as a destination, as a new destination in POI search. SOLUTION: The navigation device for mounting on a vehicle comprises: a means of inputting key words; a means of searching a place corresponding to a key word; a means of establishing a destination from among places searched; a means of storing historical information including key words corresponding to a place established at a destination and the present place; a means of extracting a place of a destination candidate corresponding to each input characters from the means of storing historical information including keywords, for each time when the characters of a keyword are input; and a means of displaying the number of destination candidates extracted.
