PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermoplastic resin composition which improves mold deposit (MD) at injection molding, and reduces the formation of die drool at sheet formation; and to provide a molded article comprising the resin composition. SOLUTION: The thermoplastic resin composition comprises a polyphenylene ether, a liquid crystalline polyester and a phosphorus compound. The phosphorus compound is one or more kinds selected from the group consisting of phosphoric acid, phosphorous acid, hypophosphorous acid, metal salts of the phosphoric acid, metal salts of the phosphorous acid, metal salts of the hypophosphorous acid and intramolecular and/or intermolecular condensate thereof, and the content thereof is 0.1-5 pts.mass based on 100 pts.mass of the total of the polyphenylene ether and the liquid crystalline polyester.
