PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a joining process, a punching device and a die related thereto. SOLUTION: A process is used for joining at least two workpieces forming the disposition of workpieces by means of a joining factor having at least one radially concave part, and is designed such that, while the disposition of workpieces is axially supported by a hollow die 50, the joining factor is axially driven to the disposition of workpieces and at least one cut-off piece 30 of the workpieces is pressed outward, to put it concretely, against the hollow die 50, deformation force is exerted to at least one side of the workpieces, materials of workpieces are poured with pressure into the radially concave part, and a secure locking connection is set between the joining factor and the workpieces. In the process, the hollow die 50 is designated as a holding means 64 which fixedly holds the cut-off piece 30 of the workpieces introduced into the hollow die 50 at a predetermined location, and the cut-off piece 30 of the workpieces remains in the hollow die 50, when the die and the disposition of workpieces are separated mutually.
