The system (1) has a fuel cell (2) and an actuator (3) that is controlled by a control unit (4). The actuator is provided for producing a residual gas from a lubricant flow of the fuel cell. The control unit comprises a controller (4.1) that incorporates fuel concentration in the lubricant flow. A lubricant-concentration sensor (17) is provided, where an operating region of the sensor corresponds to a predominant lubricant-concentration region of the fuel cell. The control unit controls the actuator after the desired value of measured concentration.
