<p>A server management apparatus comprises a job management section for managing a job control unit provided in a virtual server and a computer management section for managing the virtual server control unit of a real server constituting the virtual server. The job management section receives a job request, retrieves the job from a queue, and requests the job control unit of the virtual server determined by requesting the computer management section to execute the job. When receiving an inquiry from the job management section, the computer management section searches the real server and the virtual server of the job request receiver to respond to the inquiry. When receiving a request to freeze the virtual server, a freezing part judges that the virtual server of the job request receiver is in an execution state and transmits a freezing instruction to the virtual server control unit of the real server to freeze the virtual server which is executing the job. When receiving a resume request, a resume part judges that the virtual server of the job request receiver is in a frozen state and transmits a resume instruction to the virtual server control unit of the real server to instruct the frozen virtual server to resume executing the job.</p> |
