ASSISTANT SEAT DRIVING SYSTEM FOR NAVIGATION AND THE METHOD

An assistant seat operation system for a navigation device and an operation method thereof are provided to allow an occupant sitting on an assistant seat to operate the navigation device when a driver can not operate the navigation system in driving. An operation method of an assistant operation system for a navigation device(10) includes the steps of: sending a signal indicating whether a seat belt of an assistant seat(50) is fastened to the navigation system through a switch(55); activating an assistant operation mode button(12); making all functions, which is impossible to be operated by a driver while driving, operable; and changing the assistant operation mode to a driver operation mode when the seat belt of the assistant seat is released.
