<p>An item of confectionery comprises a layer of chocolate surrounding or forming a hollow rigid body, or bodies, containing a liquid, or liquids, the chocolate layer incorporating solid particles of a flavouring substance, for example nut flakes, ginger chips, candied peel, grated dried fruit, and crystalline fruit acids. Where a plurality of rigid liquid-containing bodies are present, which bodies may be produced by known methods, the chocolate layer serves additionally to bind the bodies together. The hollow rigid body may be a shell body which contains an item of fruit in addition to the liquid.</p> |
