A method for sealing and fixing tiling (or similar ceramic) elements, to form sealed tiling on a substrate involves: applying a coupling primer layer to the substrate surface; applying a ribbed layer of fixing adhesive, comprising a liquid sealant (modified by stiffening and tackifying additives) or hydraulic binder-based mortar (modified by sealing and flexibilizing additives); and placing the tiles on the fixing layer (before drying) under pressure. A method for sealing and fixing tiling (or similar ceramic) elements, to form sealed tiling on a substrate (specifically of concrete or the like), involves: (1) applying a coupling primer layer (3) to the surface (2') of the substrate (2), such that any pores in the surface are simultaneously sealed; (2) applying a ribbed layer of ready-for-use or previously prepared tile fixing adhesive (4), comprising a liquid sealant (modified by stiffening and tackifying additives) or hydraulic binder-based mortar (modified by sealing and flexibilizing additives), using a spatula (or the like), if necessary after allowing time for the primer layer to dry; and (3) placing the tiles (or the like) (1) on the fixing layer (before drying) with application of pressure, such that the adhesive layer (4) is levelled and the surface of each tile abuts evenly with the adhesive layer. Independent claims are included for a tiling adhesive/sealant for use in the process, comprising (by weight, in ready-for-use form), either: (1) (a) 25-65% single-component polyurethane, two-component polyurethane or polymer dispersion (specifically of the styrene-butadiene rubber (SBR) type) in an aqueous phase, (b) 25-60% mineral filler(s) of silica, calcareous or other type and (c) functional additive(s); or (2) (a) 70-90% mortar or hydraulic binder for adhesion or sealing, (b) 1-25% resin selected from polymers, aqueous polymer dispersion and analogs (c) functional additive(s). |
