PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten warming-up time and to achieve stable fixing in the fixing device of a copying machine or the like which is equipped with: a fixing member circularly moving on a circumferential locus; a supporting member present inside the fixing member and supporting the fixing member; a pressure member pressuring the fixing member; and a heater heating the fixing member. SOLUTION: A backup member (106) which backs up the supporting member (104) is provided on the back side of the supporting member (104), and part of or all of either the backup member (106) or the supporting member (104) is formed of heat insulating material (108).
