An image formation method and an image formation apparatus are disclosed. The image formation method includes: a step of determining a specified number of sheets to be printed, a step of carrying out double-side printing by a non-inter-leaf operation if only one sheet is to be printed, steps of acquiring parameters (productivity, conveyance path length, and sheet length) that determine availability of an inter-leaf operation (whether an inter-leaf operation is possible), a step of determining the availability of the inter-leaf operation, and steps of carrying out the inter-leaf operation until the specified number of the sheets is processed if possible.
