<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide constitution that can easily detect a cleaning unit not being loaded while improving maintainability by enabling the cleaning unit to be loaded and unloaded. <P>SOLUTION: A laser printer 1 includes a conveyance belt 38, a main body casing 2 which houses the conveyance belt 38, a cleaning roller 40, and a backup roller 54, and includes the cleaning unit 41 which is configured to be loaded in and unloaded from the main body casing 2. Further, a cleaning mode can be set and changed between a first mode in which cleaning power is increased and a second mode in which the cleaning power is made less than in the first mode, and a pressing power varying mechanism 60 drives a cleaning means according to the set cleaning mode. Further, a sensor 100 is provided which detects the operation state of the cleaning means to decide whether the cleaning unit 41 is loaded in the main body casing 2 based upon the set cleaning mode and the detection result of the sensor 100. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
