<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mobile terminal device and an operation control method thereof in which a user is capable of easily grasping whether a desired broadcast can be viewed. <P>SOLUTION: A portable telephone device 100 comprises a broadcasting wave receiver 102 for receiving a broadcasting wave. A CPU 117 acquires viewing desire conditions of a channel or a program designated by a user, controls the broadcasting wave receiver 102 based on the acquired viewing desire conditions and measures reception quality of the received broadcasting wave.
