摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a metallic surface reforming method capable of reducing stress corrosion cracking, keeping an effect of suppressing corrosion and stress corrosion cracking, and repairing the surface of a metallic material when a residual stress and micro fracture are generated thereon. SOLUTION: Friction stirring is implemented in which a corrosion resistant material 4 is brought into contact with the surface of a metallic base material 1 and pressurized to produce a relative movement of the contact face. A surfacing layer 3 composed of the corrosion resistant material 4 is thereby formed on the surface of the metallic base material 1. Thus, corrosion resistance on the surface of the metallic base material 1 is increased to prevent stress corrosion cracking, which is the characteristic of the metallic surface reforming method.
