<p>A dental bleaching material comprises a dental bleaching composition that includes a dental bleaching agent and a thickening agent and a protective coating on a surface of the dental bleaching composition that includes a complex of polyvinyl pyrrolidone (PVP) and hydrogen peroxide (H<sub>2</sub>O<sub>2</sub>). The bleaching composition may be a gel or solid. The protective coating may be a powder or a solid shell. A dental bleaching device (100) includes a barrier layer (102), such as an initially flat strip or a dental bleaching tray (110), a dental bleaching composition (112) adjacent to the barrier layer (102), and a protective coating on a surface of the dental bleaching composition comprising the complex of PVP and H<sub>2</sub>O<sub>2</sub>.</p> |
