PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately specify the road where a vehicle is running, with a navigation device for supporting the driving of the vehicle by a driver also when an elevated road and a non-elevated road are disposed in parallel. SOLUTION: Data of impact detected when the vehicle passes a joint of the elevated road is stored in an impact database 130. When an impact not lower than a predetermined threshold is detected by an acceleration sensor 30, a road classification determination section 150 calculates the correlation value between the data of the impact detected by the acceleration sensor 30 and the impact data stored in the impact database 130, and determines the road classification based on the calculated correlation value.
