PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a muffling member and a ventilation device capable of coping with and muffling noise of a wide frequency range without requiring large space. SOLUTION: The muffling member consists of a bar shape body including a plurality of muffling passages 13 having larger cross section area at a center part 12 than opening ends 10, 11. In the ventilation device, a part of a gas passage 20 extending in one direction is formed by a plurality of muffling passages 13 of a bar shape muffling member 1 including a plurality of the muffling passages 13 having larger cross section area at a center part 12 than opening ends 10, 11.
