What is described is an apparatus for disintegrating biomass-containing sludges, comprising a high-pressure reactor which has a sludge inlet for the sludge to be treated and a sludge outlet (2) for treated sludge, and also a gas supply line for a pressurized gas. To increase the disintegrating effect, it is proposed that the sludge outlet (2) has a plurality of openings (3) with adjustable opening cross sections for discharging the treated sludge.
