BIOADHESIVE CONJUGATE POLYMERS AND PROCESS FOR PREPARATION THEREOF

Bioadhesive conjugate polymers and a process for preparation thereof are provided to increase bioadhesive effects, to be used in a mucosa, and to obtain a bioadhesive injection formulation containing new bioadhesive conjugate polymers. In the bioadhesive conjugate polymer, a bioadhesive polymer and a polyvinyl pyrrolidone are coupled by covalent bond. The bioadhesive polymer is selected from a group consisting of hyaluronic acid, chitosan and alginic acid. The molecular weights of the bioadhesive polymer and the polyvinyl pyrrolidone are in a range of 500-2,000,000. The amount of the polyvinyl pyrrolidone is 0.1-50 weight% based on a total amount of the bioadhesive polymer and the polyvinyl pyrrolidone used. The process for preparation of a bioadhesive conjugate polymers includes the steps of: dissolving the polyvinyl pyrrolidone and a bioadhesive polymer in an organic solvent; and obtaining conjugate polymer by adding a crosslink agent and an initiator.
