METHOD FOR ALLOCATION OF PILOT IN MULTI CARRIER SYSTEM

A method for allocating pilots in a multi-carrier system is provided to increase the efficiency of data transmission by reducing the number of symbols required for pilots in transmitting data in an MIMO(Multiple Input Multiple Output)-OFDM(Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing) method. In a multi-carrier system which transmits data through a plurality of Tx antennas, a transmitting part allocates the first pilot disjointed with respect to the Tx antennas. The transmitting part allocates the second pilot which is transmitted through frequency-time resources by at least two of the Tx antennas. In this case, phase shift orthogonality is maintained between the first pilot and the second pilot, which are transmitted through their respective Tx antennas at the same time unit.
