LED LIGHT SOURCE MODULE, EDGE INPUT TYPE BACKLIGHT, AND LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display using a bright LED array module as a light source by improving light extraction efficiency from an LED chip when using the LED array module.

SOLUTION: In an LED light source module LOM1, a luminous surface in a luminous layer 693 sandwiched between a p-type semiconductor 691 and an n-type semiconductor 692 is vertically mounted to a mount surface PB in a module substrate 622, a sealing resin 624 seals the LED chip 621 to the module substrate 622 in contact with the mount surface PB in the module substrate 622 at an upper bottom section PB in its trapezoidal sectional shape, and a reflection film 630 is provided on both the sides PS of the sealing resin 622.
