PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermal head which can print an image of high quality on a recording medium even when printing speed is high, and can print an image of high quality on a recording medium while equalizing an interval between heating elements. SOLUTION: The disclosed thermal head is formed of a plurality or a single convex portion (heat storage layer) 13a arranged on a base substrate 11, and a plurality of heating bodies 14 on the heat storage layers 13a. The thermal head has a heat dissipating layer 12 formed of a high-melting metal, at a location between each heat storage layer 13a and the base substrate 11 or between the heat storage layers 13a.
