PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a glass conveyance member having a cover hard to peel off under high-temperature atmosphere and also hard to generate crack, and to provide its production method. SOLUTION: The glass conveyance member 1 is provided with a base material 2 and a covering layer 3 which is formed at least on the surface of the base material 2 facing the glass to be conveyed, and at least a part of the member 1 abuts on the glass when conveyed. The covering layer 3 has a marginal region reduced in layer's thickness stepwise or gradually reduced toward the boundary portion between the end of the layer 3 and the base material 2.
