There are provided an air cleaner in which an adsorption element for adsorbing vaporized fuel is surely fixed to a housing without additionally providing a special step, and moreover the performance of element and the performance of an air cleaner itself can be maintained, and a manufacturing method for the air cleaner. The air cleaner is configured so that a filter element 60 and an adsorption element 40 for adsorbing vaporized fuel are incorporated in a housing 1 A formed by joining the open ends of a pair of housing members 2 and 20 to each other. At the open end of each of the housing members 2 and 20 , a welding protrusion 12, 29 projecting toward the open end on the other side is formed, and a connecting portion 46 formed with a welding protrusion 47 is provided on a holding frame 42 of the adsorption element 40.
