<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display element improving its visual angle characteristic without deteriorating outdoor daylight contrast and a display apparatus using the display element. <P>SOLUTION: Organic light emitting elements 10R, 10G and 10B in the display apparatus are provided with a resonator structure with an end surface on a light emitting layer 18C side of a first electrode 15 as a first end part P1 and an end surface on a light emitting layer 18C side of a second electrode 19 as a second end part P2. The first electrode 15 is formed on a step forming layer 14 and the first end part P1 is provided with a step shape. This step shape is imbedded and flattened by a distance adjusting layer 17. Therefore, the second end part P2 is made flat and a difference occurs according to the step shape in optical distance between the first end part P1 and the second end part P2. The visual angle characteristic is improved by having the peak wave lengths of taken out spectrum of light differ according to the optical distance and making a half value width of the synthesized spectrum of the above wider. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT</p> |
