PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To stably control a nuclear reactor by a simple constitution so as not to enter an unstable region defined by a relationship between a temperature and a pressure in the nuclear reactor at startup. SOLUTION: The nuclear reactor system includes a nuclear reactor coolant clean up water system (CUW) device 15 forming a coolant clean up water system extracting the coolant from a nuclear reactor pressure vessel 6 and returning the coolant to a natural circulation system after cleaning up the coolant, a heater 16 heating the coolant cleaned up by the coolant clean up water system, and a controller 20 controlling a sub-cool temperature indicating the temperature difference between an internal temperature of the nuclear reactor pressure vessel 6 and a boiling point by controlling the heating of the coolant by the heater 16 when the nuclear reactor system is started up.
