PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power supply device for supplying a voltage or power added with a voltage drop or a power loss occurring due to a floating capacitance or the like included in a wiring by detecting wiring characteristics, a discharge lamp lighting device, and an illuminating device that uses the discharge lamp lighting device. SOLUTION: An LC resonance circuit is formed by an inductor component L31 included in a lighting device, a conductor C41 of the lighting device, and the floating capacitance Cy, included in the wiring connected to the lighting device during no load, while a discharge lamp is not lit. The wiring characteristics, such as the floating capacitance included in the wiring are detected by calculating the voltage, changed by the frequency generated by an inverter circuit 14 and a resonance frequency of the LC resonance circuit. The voltage or power, which is added with an amount equivalent to the voltage drop and an amount equivalent to the power loss generated by the floating capacitance or the like of the wiring characteristics, is supplied to the discharge lamp 3.
